Gota Moong Tamatar

Today, I was home alone, working from home,
While going through Mid Week Workload at my job, back to back calls, escalations and some Additional Voluntary Toastmasters work, I cooked this beauty.

​​​Ingredients

1 Cup overnight soaked whole Moong

1 big onion

3 big tomatoes

1 pinch hing

1 tsp Jeera

Oil

Water

Half tsp Turmeric Powder (haldi)

1 tsp red chilli powder (reduce quantity if using spicier powder)

1/2 tsp jira powder

1 tsp dhaniya powder

1 tsp Ginger garlic paste

3 green chillies

Salt to taste

Garnish

Coriander leaves

Procedure:

Boil soaked Moong with water, a little salt and Haldi in a cooker for 3 whistles (if in a jiffy then utilize 4 whistles and add boiled Moong at the very end)

Take a pan, add oil, Add hing, Add jira and let it dance in the oil like Vidhayak, Binod and Banrakas

Add chopped onion

Add 1 chopped green chilli

Add ginger garlic paste

Cook onion for a few mins and then Add all the seasoning masalas and salt

Add chopped tomatoes

Let them cook for sometime

Add boiled Moong

Add slit green chillies

Once everything is emulsified and cooked Add coriander powder
